HISTORY
Alix Fils-Aime', of Lakeville, PA began receiving messages from the Lord in the mid 1970's. Throughout the 1980's Alix received a series of messages from the Lord, which were entitled ARISE JERUSALEM, ARISE. The basic theme of these messages is that we are all Jerusalem, the Temple of the Lord that needs to be rebuilt. These messages deal with every evil of our time. Although these messages were given over a period of years, the Lord wanted them to be arranged in a certain order. It was for this reason that they were numbered, but not in the order that Alix received them.
Eventually Alix obtained spiritual direction from Msgr. John Esseff of the Scranton, PA diocese, who read the messages and suggested that they be reviewed by the Bishop of Scranton. The first thirty-three messages were submitted, and after review, Bishop Timlin gave informal permission that they be published. One message titled LET THERE BE LIFE was given the Bishop's imprimatur.
Over a period of years Alix received additional messages from the Lord. These too became a part of the ARISE JERUSALEM, ARISE messages, and were reviewed by Msgr. Esseff. These particular messages were leading up to a confirmation of the final Marian Doctrine of Our Lady of All Graces, that is, Mary as the Advocate, Co-redemptrix and Mediatrix of all Graces.
The title of 'Our Lady of All Graces' was first disclosed to Alix in the message he received during the first Gulf War. Between 1991 and 1994 Alix received sporadic messages from Our Lady, however, after 1994 they became more frequent. Our Lady often insisted that Alix receive Her message in the Eucharistic Chapel located in St. Mary Magdalen parish in Honesdale, PA. St. Mary's has had a perpetual Eucharistic Adoration chapel since May, 1990.
Throughout 1997 and part of 1998 Alix received messages from the Holy Trinity, which became known as GUIDANCE FOR A SOUL. This work was reviewed by Msgr. Esseff and forwarded to Bishop Timlin, who gave permission for it to be sent to the Vatican, as per instruction of the Lord Himself. Eventually on February 14, 1998 Alix received a message from St. Gabriel the Arch-Angel that he was to start a devotion to the Blessed Mother under the title of Our Lady of All Graces in the Eucharistic Chapel at St. Mary Magdalen in Honesdale, PA. Alix understood that the messages that he was receiving would have to be propagated to the whole world.
Subsequently, Alix composed the Prayer of the Heart. In this prayer we place all our needs and intentions into our hearts and surrender our hearts to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is through the Immaculate Heart that our hearts are then united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A few people who were attracted by the messages, began to meet informally and plan on how best to propagate them.
Slowly the messages of Our Lady of All Graces started to spread throughout Wayne County, PA, where Alix resides. Eventually the priests of the Wayne County Deanery wanted to know more about the devotion to Our Lady of All Graces, and sought a meeting with Deacon Mark S. Jennings, who had been heavily involved in helping Alix propagate the messages. At the meeting Deacon Mark explained the origin of the devotion to Our Lady of All Graces as well as the ARISE JERUSALEM ARISE messages. It was decided by the Deanery that Deacon Mark, Msgr. Esseff and Alix meet with Bishop James Timlin of the Scranton Diocese to seek permission to propagate the devotion to Mary under the title of Our Lady of All Graces.
In April, 1999 Alix received a vision of Our Lady of All Graces which he wrote down in detail. Later it became clear that Our Lady wanted a portrait done after the vision that Alix had received. After several attempts to find an artist who could make a proper rendering of Our Lady of All Graces, the portrait was completed by Angelo Descul in April, 2004.
In August, 2001 the first Our Lady of All Graces prayer group began meeting in the basement of St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale, PA. Since that time Alix has received weekly messages, mostly from Our Lady, but occasionally from Our Lord as well. Subsequently, other prayer groups started in Old Forge, PA, Hamlin, PA and Tafton, PA. Since the beginning of the war in Iraq the Arise Jerusalem, Arise Ministry has promoted the Crusade for Prayer for Peace. The purpose of the Crusade is to get people to pray for peace. Both Our Lord and Our Lady have encouraged the Ministry to gather prayers for peace to end the war and to avoid further conflict.
It was in 1999 that the Ministry was officially formed as the Arise Jerusalem, Arise Ministry, Inc. For a time the Ministry had a local radio program devoted to the propagation of the weekly messages from Our Lady. The Ministry has also been active in publishing the original ARISE JERUSALEM MESSAGES, which Alix first received throughout the 1970's and 1980's, as well as a work entitled GUIDANCE FOR A SOUL. The Ministry also has launched a website, www.ourladyofallgraces.org, which among other things posts Our Lady's weekly messages.
